Biden camp blasts ‘unhinged’ Trump response to verdict, accuses him of ‘sowing chaos’

The Biden-Harris 2024 campaign responded on Friday to former President Donald Trump’s “erratic” speech from Trump Tower, accusing him of being “disorganized,” “desperate” and “sowing chaos.”

“America has just witnessed a confused, desperate and defeated Donald Trump peddle his personal grievances and lies about our justice system, leading everyone watching to the obvious conclusion that this man cannot be president of the United States,” Biden-Harris 2024 communications director Michael Tyler said in a statement Friday. “Reeling from his 2020 election loss and criminal conviction, Trump is consumed with a thirst for revenge and retribution. He thinks this election is about him, but it’s not. This is about the American people – to ease their burdens, protect their freedoms and defend their democracy.”

“That’s what Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are fighting for. Donald Trump is sowing chaos, attacking the rule of law, and fighting for the only thing he cares about in this world – Donald Trump.”

The campaign’s comments came after Trump gave a lengthy speech from Trump Tower in New York on Friday morning following his unprecedented trial in which he was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records.

Trump, who is seen as a possible Republican candidate for the 2024 election, has said he wanted to testify in the New York v. Trump criminal trial but appears to have been fitted with a lawyer who will not allow him to do so.

“I would have testified. I wanted to testify,” Trump said from the podium.
