Biden Gives the Game Away on Iran

President Joe Biden issued two extraordinary statements this week in response to Iran's attack on Israel with nearly 200 ballistic missiles.

First, he said that Israel should not attack Iran's nuclear facilities, even though they may soon be equipped with nuclear warheads.

Second, Israel said it would not attack Iran “today” (Thursday) and telegraphed its military plans.

Third, although Mr. Biden appeared in the White House briefing room on Friday and told Israel not to attack Iranian oil facilities, Mr. Prices have soared.

So without attacking Iran's nuclear and oil and gas facilities, what is left for Israel? Probably Iranian missile sites, but it's probably only a matter of time before Biden tells Israel that it's not authorized to attack those missile sites either.

Biden's statement was not a brilliant ploy aimed at swaying Iran's defenses.

There are three possibilities.

One: Biden may have been trying to constrain Israel's response to Iran, as in April, when Iran first directly attacked Israel with a ballistic missile. Israel's minimal response targeted some of Iran's air defenses. It was a symbolic retaliation and clearly did not deter a second missile attack.

2: Biden may become mentally cornered and unable to filter public comments to protect U.S. allies and military secrets.

This second possibility is worth investigating further.

Consider the media hysteria that erupted in 2017 when President Trump met with Russian officials and critics. claimed I wonder if he somehow passed on classified information to them. The story is repeated In 2019, President Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland. Democrats tried to subpoena a White House interpreter. They were convinced that Trump was revealing secrets to America's enemies.

But here we have President Biden, openly revealing what should be classified information: the goals and timing of attacks by U.S. allies against U.S. adversaries, likely in coordination with the U.S. military. This is what Democrats call treason, but it's happening in public. Under the Trump administration, Democrats would have responded by calling for the president's removal from office under the 25th Amendment. Under the Biden administration, they, like the media, are silent.

This brings us to the third possibility. Biden may genuinely believe that reassuring adversaries is the way to implement national security policy.

In June 2021, Biden reportedly met with President Putin at a special “summit” in Geneva, specifically before Putin met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. gave Hmm, here's a list of 16 targets that Russia has warned not to target in a cyber attack. These were likely important to America's infrastructure.

This amazing gesture not only showed Russians what our most important place is; gave A virtual “green light” that affects everything else. Biden appears to believe that playing the “open card” with Putin would be a step toward easing tensions. Rather, Putin appears to have interpreted Biden's actions as a sign of weakness, an impression likely confirmed by the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Less than a year later, Russia invaded Ukraine.

In Democratic foreign policy circles, the world will somehow like Americans more if they show that they are “good people” and that they can criticize them just as much as their enemies. The idea of being deaf is spreading.

Trump scares them because he can be very mean and because he is proud of America. Unlike them, he does not detail his plans in public, whether they involve ISIS or health care. They say this means President Trump has no plan.

In reality, Trump's plan is always the same: win. (Or like President Ronald Reagan) said: “We win, they lose.”) He is unpredictable but decisive, which is why there was four years of peace during his first term.

Biden should have remained silent other than to say that Israel is perfectly entitled to strike back anytime and anywhere and that the United States will support or at least not deter Israel. If America and Israel's enemies knew they could face a devastating response, they would not attack at all.

That is Trump's policy, and that is why there has been four years of peace in the Middle East. Hamas did not attack. Hezbollah did not attack. Iran did not attack. And several Arab countries came forward to make peace with Israel.

Instead of warning America's enemies, the president who issued the infamous and ineffective “cease and desist” on Iran after October 7th, now tells Israel to “fuck it,” weakening us all. There is.
