Biden leads Trump in polls for first time since last year

President Biden is leading former President Trump in the polls for the first time since October, according to the latest polling averages from The Hill/Decision Desk Headquarters (DDHQ).

Biden has a 0.1 point lead over Trump. Based on an average of 685 DDHQ polls, the president has an approval rating of 45% and Trump 44.9% in a likely matchup between the two in 2024.

Sunday marked six months until Election Day in November. A new I&I/TIPP Insights poll shows Biden with a 2-point lead, a Reuters/Ipsos poll shows Biden with a 1-point lead, and a new ABC News/Ipsos poll also shows Biden with a 1-point lead. .

When independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is included in the poll, The Hill/DDHQ polling average gives Trump a 1.1 point lead. The 144 polls included in the average show Trump’s approval rating at 41.2%, Biden at 40.1% and Kennedy at 8.5%.

Mr. Biden has struggled to gain support against Mr. Trump, particularly in battleground states where Mr. Trump has a lead in recent polls.

The former president leads Biden by 3.3 percentage points in Michigan, 3.1 percentage points in Wisconsin and 0.7 percentage points in Pennsylvania.
