Trump: “We can turn New York upside down, it’s changing”
Former President Trump joins “Sunday Morning Futures” to discuss facing four criminal charges and plans to campaign in New York City’s South Bronx and Madison Square Garden.
Despite recent job growth and slowing inflation, President Biden has struggled to compete with former President Donald Trump on issues such as the economy and the border.
Results from an NBC News national poll released Sunday showed that when voters were asked which candidate would be better suited to navigate the economy, Biden was the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination. They have a 23 point difference.
These numbers show that his administration’s economic policies are having an impact, as Biden told Michigan voters on Thursday that “inflation is going down” and “800,000 manufacturing jobs have been created.” This came despite recent claims that the government was beginning to do so.

Nevertheless, 55% of registered voters said they believed Trump was the better candidate to steer the economy, compared to 33% who chose Biden.
Trump also has significant leads over Biden on securing the border (+35 points), presidential health (+23 points), and combating crime and violence (+21 points). I’m proud. The former president also leads Biden by double digits in competitiveness and competence (+16) and improving America’s standing in the world (+11).
The competitiveness and effectiveness numbers may be the most concerning for Biden, according to NBC News, as they represent a significant change from 2020, when Biden led Trump by 9 points on the same question. Body.

Jeff Horwitt, a Democratic pollster at Hart Research Associates who conducted the poll with Republican pollster Bill McInturff, said, “The biggest concern is that Biden’s position relative to Trump will change over the next four years. “This is a decrease compared to before,” he said of the results. “Compared to 2020, Mr. Biden’s momentum has declined by every measure. Most egregiously, the belief that Mr. Biden is likely to hold the job — a key tenet of his candidacy — has disappeared.”
This reality may be contributing to Biden’s declining approval rating, which polled at just 37%, the lowest of his presidency.
