Bill Maher says Biden can be switched out at the DNC convention: He sold himself as a ‘one term’ president

“Real Time” host Bill Maher suggested it’s not too late for Democrats to oust President Biden at this summer’s Democratic National Convention following the special counsel’s explosive report.

During a panel discussion Friday night, Maher revived the president’s nickname, “Ruth Bader Biden,” after special counsel Robert Hur made revelations about Biden’s cognitive abilities.

“I said he was going to be the Ruth Bader Ginsburg of presidential politics…He lingered too long at the expo,” Maher said. “There’s a lot going on this week…he’s not going to do a Super Bowl interview. It’s not hard, you mix up all the world leaders, and you mix it up with this report that came out.”

He later said, “Republicans are good at exploiting this. It’s a little bit like the Comey letter, it’s a little bit like the Starr report.”

Maher recalled that Biden referred to himself as a “bridge” to the Democratic Party during the 2020 campaign, which he claimed was a “huge hint” that he did not intend to seek re-election.

“He said, ‘I think of myself as a crumbling bridge,'” Maher said jokingly. “‘I consider myself a bridge-builder.’ I was reading this as one of his terms.”

After the special counsel’s report, Biden lashed out at reporters who asked him about age concerns, saying, “That’s your decision!”

“You can replace him in a meet…If a guy says, ‘I can’t run,’ you have to do it. Then it has to be someone else. Then it becomes an open meet. .We’ve had public conventions many times before.” “Many times…they make up for it as they go along anyway. That’s politics,” Maher later added.

He later poked fun at Biden for confusing Egypt and Mexico when he spoke about Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi at a press conference Thursday night.

“While explaining that he was perfectly fine and wouldn’t mix things up, he confused who Egypt’s President El-Sisi was and said he was the Mexican president. “It’s like I’m claiming to be myself in front of ‘I’m not a fraud when the burner phone goes off,'” Maher joked. When we elected him, we knew he was elderly, okay? Joe, he’s like a goldfish you get at a fair, don’t get attached. ”

He added, “Who doesn’t confuse the president of Mexico with the president of Egypt? I once invited an Egyptian leader to a dinner when I was planning to invite the president of Mexico. ‘It was like, ‘I was like, ‘Oh, that’s it.’ Oh, I hope you like tacos! ”
