A black teacher at Beverly Hills High School accused a “mob” of students wearing MAGA costumes and holding pro-Donald Trump flags of racism on Election Day, shouting “fuck Kamala.” Now, a lawsuit is reportedly looming.
You can watch the video report on KTTV-TV here About the controversy. The title of the video indicates that two black teachers are suing the school for racism and discrimination, but the department did not mention the identity of the second teacher.
“Beverly Hills High School, and indeed the city of Beverly Hills, has repeatedly demonstrated racism towards students and teachers.”
Bella Ivory — Apparently she teaches fashion design at school. KABC TV — told KTTV that her “fear” of Trump-supporting students was growing.
“It was just a bunch of kids. There were so many kids outside my door,” Ivory said in the video, adding: “I'll tell you how scary it was.” Ta. She told KTTV that the group tried to enter her classroom. Ivory's attorney, Brad Gage, told KABC that students terrorized a Black Student Union rally led by Ivory.
“Some students were walking down the hallway yelling, 'Fuck you Kamala,'” Ivory said in a separate video segment. “The profanity used against the vice president, who is also black, combined with the students gathering in front of the classroom, increased my fear and the fear of the students who were locked in the room with me. .”
Ivory added that she has been reporting racism on campus since 2022, but those concerns have been ignored, according to KTTV. Ivory is currently on administrative leave due to safety concerns, KABC reported, adding that school administrators said she would meet with him, but that never happened.
A KTTV video report shared another clip showing a student pointing out feces on the bathroom floor and then focusing on racist comments written on the bathroom wall. Another clip showed two female students saying, “Let's take a moment to appreciate how nice and beautiful and clean the cafeteria is now. Now let's fast forward to lunch.” The video showed black students eating in a cafeteria, then cut to female students commenting, “This is disgusting. … I don't like this.”
“It's clear what that means. They associate the presence of black students with dirty cafeterias. That's the epitome of racism,” Gage told KTTV regarding the video clip.
KTTV announced that Gage has filed a formal complaint on Ivory's behalf with the Beverly Hills Unified School District, and plans to pursue a lawsuit alleging “discrimination, harassment, retaliation, racial comments, and physical intimidation.” He added.
“Beverly Hills High School, and indeed the city of Beverly Hills, has repeatedly demonstrated racism towards students and teachers,” Gage added to KABC.
KABC reached out to the school for comment on the lawsuit but said it did not respond. The district previously said it investigates all allegations of racism and harassment to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students, according to KTTV.
That's not the only related accusation.
