Blake Miguez receives Trump's backing for House campaign after withdrawing from Senate race

Former President Donald Trump has thrown his support behind Louisiana Senator Blake Miguez. Miguez recently stepped back from his Senate run to pursue a seat in the House of Representatives instead.

On Truth Social, Trump expressed his excitement, stating, “I am honored to endorse MAGA warrior Blake Miguez as he runs to represent the great people of Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District. I fully support Blake as the next representative for Louisiana’s 5th. He will not let you down!”

Miguez expressed his gratitude, thanking Trump for his endorsement. He emphasized the importance of representing “America First” and labeled Trump as “the greatest president in our nation’s history,” while also looking forward to serving in the House.

Interestingly, Miguez had previously criticized Senator Bill Cassidy, calling him “terrible,” and withdrew from the Senate race while aiming to replace Cassidy. It’s worth noting that Cassidy was among Republican senators who voted to convict Trump during his impeachment, although the vote occurred after Trump had left office.

Recently, Trump also endorsed Congresswoman Julia Letlow, suggesting she should run for a Senate seat, expressing confidence in her past electoral successes.

Now, with Miguez officially entering the race for the House, he reiterated his commitment to fighting for Trump’s policies that prioritize Louisiana families. “I remain true to that promise and stand ready to support President Trump,” he stated in a press release.
