Body discovered close to Disneyland Resort sign in Anaheim, police looking into it

A man was discovered dead near the boundary of Disneyland Resort in California on Sunday, leading to an ongoing police investigation and causing pedestrians to re-route around the area where the sidewalk was blocked off.

Emergency services, including the Anaheim police and Anaheim Fire and Rescue, responded to the location at 800 West Katella Avenue at approximately 1:45 p.m. Upon arrival, paramedics determined the man was deceased.

The investigation took place right under a prominent blue Disneyland Resort entrance sign, which added a surreal backdrop to the scene.

Officers used yellow crime scene tape to cordon off the area and set up a black privacy screen to shield the body from view as they worked.

Reports indicated a beer can was found near the deceased, but it’s unclear if it was connected to his death. The official cause remains undetermined.

Video footage captured at the scene showed personnel from the Orange County Coroner’s office in formal attire transporting a covered gurney to an unmarked minivan parked on Katella Avenue.

Uniformed police officers were stationed at the perimeter to collect evidence and maintain order.

As authorities continued their investigation, pedestrians were redirected away from the blocked area.

The identity of the deceased has yet to be disclosed, although some reports mention that he was a 65-year-old man. Details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident are still being investigated.
