Arizona Shooting Involving Border Patrol Agents Under Investigation

Authorities in Arizona are currently looking into a shooting incident that took place on Tuesday, which involved U.S. Border Patrol agents.

The FBI has informed that they are investigating an alleged assault on a federal employee. This incident happened around 7 a.m. near Arivaca, Arizona, which is located just a few miles from the southern border.

“The subject was taken into custody,” authorities stated, adding that the investigation is ongoing and no further information will be shared for now.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office is working alongside the FBI and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

According to the Santa Rita Fire District, the shooting occurred near milepost 15 on Arivaca Street. Emergency responders arrived on the scene around 7:30 a.m. and found one individual in critical condition.

The patient was subsequently airlifted to a local hospital for emergency medical care.

Fox News Digital attempted to reach out to the fire district, CBP, and the Department of Homeland Security for more details.

So far, specific circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been publicly disclosed.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is also conducting a parallel investigation, leading the inquiry into the use of force concerning the agent involved. Officials indicated that such measures are standard when federal agencies are implicated in shooting incidents in Pima County.

This incident marks the second shooting involving Border Patrol agents recently, following the fatal shooting of Alex Preti, 37, by a USBP officer during a confrontation in Minnesota. This was part of a federal enforcement operation.

It also occurs weeks after another shooting incident where Renee Good was killed by ICE agents in Minneapolis while she allegedly attempted to hit them with her vehicle. Both of these deaths have led to protests and violent clashes between federal authorities and anti-ICE demonstrators.
