Border Patrol union says Biden is flying in migrants so ‘border doesn’t look as out of control,’ warns of amnesty plan

said Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council. new york post On Wednesday, the Biden administration announced it was artificially reducing the number of migrants it encounters at the southern border.

Judd explained that the administration is airlifting migrants into the United States “so that the border does not become unmanageable.” The union leader called the plan “just a bait-and-switch.”

“They’re just paroling people through the airport instead of having them come across the border,” Judd told the Post. “They’re going to keep the numbers around 5,000. [border crossings per day]We put people on parole and say, “Oh, look, we’ve reduced our numbers.” ”

The number of border encounters is ‘astronomical'[ly] “Higher” compared to the Donald Trump and Barack Obama administrations.

“We’re still five times where we should be, but we’re still below the record number of arrests at our southern border,” Judd continued.

The Biden administration will use Customs and Border Protection’s CBP One mobile phone app to secretly bring 320,000 “unacceptable” illegal immigrants into the country in 2023, according to a Freedom of Information lawsuit filed by the Center for Immigration Research. Blaze News previously reported that he did so.

From January to December 2023, the White House transported pre-approved immigrants to 43 airports in the United States through CBP One, according to a report by Todd Bensman, a senior national security fellow at a nonprofit think tank. The immigrants were citizens of Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Jerusalem, Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia, and Ecuador.

In January 2023, the Biden administration expanded CBP One applications to encourage immigrants to apply for admission in a “safe and orderly” manner while in their home countries. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claimed the mobile app would deter and ultimately reduce illegal immigration at the southern border.

A CBP spokesperson said less than 1% of immigrants who applied for reservations at ports of entry through the app were turned away last year.

The program was expanded again last summer to allow up to 522,000 immigrants a year.

Troy A. Miller, the senior official who serves as Director of CBP, said the expansion “enhanced schedules and streamlined operations for the second time in less than two months that the number of reservation slots available at ports of entry has increased. “It will increase,” he said.

Since January 2023, approximately 413,300 immigrants have “used CBP One to successfully schedule entry appointments at ports of entry,” CBP said. report At the beginning of this year.

Mr Judd warned that he expected to see “an amnesty program in the future” as new immigrants flooded into the country.

“All you’re doing is inviting more people to come. Then they can say, ‘Okay, what I need to do is come here and stay here for 10 years. “They realize that if they do, they will have a legal path down the road,” he told the Post. “That won’t work.”

“Does Joe Biden Really Understand How Many Illegal Aliens He’s Importing?” NBPC wrote X. “If you can’t read a teleprompter or know how to get off a stage and think you can accurately count in the millions, you might need help.”

The White House did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.
