Arizona was able to boost border security funding this year with this state budget, Fox News Digital learned.
The National House recently passed the law to $50 million in hopes of raising budgets aimed at cracking down on border-related crimes.

Budget negotiations usually take place between Republican legislative leaders and the Democratic government's Katie Hobbs office throughout the session. The governor's office has indicated that an increase in border security funds could be on the table for the final proposal, even if it is not the exact amount.
“The department shall fund the duties of local law enforcement officers in order to fund the position of local law enforcement officers based on the duties of local law enforcement officers to block and arrest individuals charged with drug trafficking, human smuggling, illegal immigration and other border-related crimes,” the legislation itself states.

Her executive budget proposal already includes an increase of around $6 million to the fund.

The bill passed a Senate committee on military affairs and border security along party boundaries on Monday. Part of the proposed increase relates to the fate of Prop. 314, a law passed by voters in November.

State Senator Kevin Vulk, the only Democrat in the House to vote in favor of the bill, said he had pledged to “increase funds to secure borders.”
