Scottish football fans have made quite an impression in Boston recently.
After a lively week in the city for the World Cup, local women are speculating about a potential “baby boom” in the coming months.
Many single women were taken by the Scottish fans’ charm, remarking on how their friendly pub atmosphere was refreshing and helped “restore their faith in men,” as seen on social media.
One woman even shared a playful image of babies dressed in kilts, humorously predicting “little World Cup babies.”
“Bostonians, with their Irish background, really welcomed their Scottish cousins. Those fun-loving Scots are definitely going to lead to a baby boom here,” she mentioned on social media.
Another Bostonian expressed excitement, expecting a surge of newborns in time for next spring.
“The 2027 Boston baby boom is shaping up to be a big event. We might see a lot of Aquarians, maybe even a few Pisces,” she noted.
Last weekend, thousands of passionate Scottish soccer fans traveled to Boston to watch their team take on Haiti, marking Scotland’s return to the World Cup after nearly three decades.
Soon, local women were flooding their social media feeds, sharing moments of joy and celebration alongside the Scots.
One woman quipped, “I may not be married, but at least I’m single while the Scots are here for the World Cup.”
Another woman talked about hosting a dating event that attracted nearly 100 participants, many of whom were Scottish.
Online, others recounted how they were swept away by the romantic charm of the highlanders.
“The energy the Scots brought to Boston was just what we needed,” one woman shared, posting a cheerful selfie with a Scottish man.
A particular Scottish fan went viral after sharing a video of himself carrying a woman on his back through the streets of Boston, which garnered over 70,000 likes.
One woman added, “If I were single in Boston right now… I’d be hitting the bars. Missing out could mean missing a great Scottish guy.”
Approximately 50,000 Scots made their way to the East Coast last week, with many sticking around for the match against Morocco at Boston Stadium this Friday.
