Boy George admits to using weight loss drug, once got a tummy tuck: ‘media scrutiny doesn’t help’

Boy George has made some surprising beauty confessions in his new memoir, Karma.

“Karma,” released on Tuesday, details Boy George's childhood, career and the cosmetic surgery the '80s pop star underwent.

According to People magazine, “It's time to admit that I had three hair transplants between 2015 and 2018. The second one was in Ireland, and the last one was in Los Angeles. And, strangely enough,… “No one remembers that I had a shaved head when I was a Badger,” he wrote. “Shortly after that, I had a stomach ache, and it was the worst I've ever had because I had just gone on tour with Cyndi Lauper with a blood bag on.”

“I've lost seven stone before [98 pounds] “I was on a metabolically balanced diet and needed to get rid of excess skin,” he explains, adding, “When someone asks about my scars, I tell them I gave birth to twins by C-section. But I've never had Botox and I might be the only one in showbiz with my own face. I'm not afraid of getting older, and I'm not afraid of being myself. It may sound weird to say that I've become sexy, but actually I am. I've joked for years that I'm still sexy at 60. That was my ambition. ”

Boy George isn't worried about “getting older”, but the 62-year-old admitted he struggled with his weight throughout his career. The “King of Everything” singer tried Ozempic, the brand name for semaglutide, and is currently taking Mounjaro, the brand name for tirzepatide.

Both drugs are FDA-approved to treat type 2 diabetes, but are popular in the United States for promoting weight loss.

“I love to eat and I can't control my appetite, but I think I finally have it under control,” he added. “Well, I'm on Munjaro. We all are, aren't we? Trust me, everyone who was fat last year and is skinny now is taking this wonder drug.”
