Hall of Fame voting brings debate every year, and for the eighth year in a row, the crowd has been hollering about Andre Jones.
The former Atlanta Braves outfielder received the highest turnout on Monday, but he did not immediately join Suzuki, CC Sabathia, and Billy Wagner as inductees.
Jones made up a lot of ground.
He received just 7.3% of the vote his first year on the ballot, but came in this week with 66.2%. Players need 75% to be selected.

A slugger at the plate with 434 home runs, Jones is considered one of the greatest defensive outfielders of all time. He won 10 consecutive Gold Glove Awards from 1998 to 2007, won at least two in all three outfield positions, and batted .254 with an .823 OPS in his career.
He has his arguments, but Chipper Jones, one of his former teammates who got a plaque in Cooperstown in 2018, said there shouldn't even be an argument.

First vote!” Chipper wrote. “Time to have a conversation about Hoffer Ringing. 75 living members can confirm it's right!”
Baseball writers have long been Hall of Fame voters, but there have been calls to change the process due to flawed concepts in the voting system.
