The UK has managed to break the stranglehold of gender ideology in recent months, prompted by the publication in April of the final report of Dr Hilary Cass’ Independent Review of Gender Identity Services for Children and Young People.
The report, the result of a multi-year investigation now known as the “Cath Review”, was commissioned by the National Health Service in England in 2020. To the chagrin of LGBT activists and other extremists, the Cath Review effectively demolished the case for gender ideologues who support genital mutilation, puberty blockers and other so-called “sex-affirming care”.
For example, the Cass Review noted that “systematic reviews provide no clear evidence that social transitions in early childhood have any positive or negative mental health outcomes, and the evidence that they have any effects during adolescence is relatively weak.”
Furthermore, while puberty suppressants “have the intended effect of inhibiting puberty,” they have also been shown to reduce bone mineral density and have no appreciable effect on “gender dysphoria or body satisfaction.”
Among the report’s various recommendations was a moratorium on prescribing puberty-suppressing drugs to children.
This week the British government followed Mr Cass’s suggestion and banned the use of puberty-suppressing drugs in private clinics.

The order, which goes into effect June 3, says the ban is “necessary to avoid serious risks to health.”
“Our children deserve compassionate, caring and careful healthcare and a Conservative government will deliver that,” Atkins said, suggesting the ban would also close prescription loopholes.
Gender ideologues and extremists who flaunt their pronouns on their profiles have slammed Atkins as well as Cass, reviving now-debunked claims that “sex reassignment treatment” saves lives.
