Blakeman’s Ad Features AI Version of Hochul

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman has launched a bold advertisement showcasing an AI-generated version of Governor Kathy Hochul. In the ad, the AI-Hochul discusses her reelection campaign while criticizing her opponent on issues ranging from rising prices to crime and illegal immigration.

Blakeman shared the ad on X, stating, “This is what Cathy Hochul’s New York really looks like,” and expressed his commitment to reducing taxes, reinstating cash bail, and making New York safer and more affordable.

The 60-second commercial includes scenes of the AI-Hochul walking through well-known New York locales, where she boasts about tax hikes and crime policies. “We provided illegal immigrants with luxury accommodation in such a beautiful hotel,” she claims while standing in a digitally created hotel lobby, where a line of immigrants waits with luggage at the front desk.

As the ad continues, AI-Hochul walks through a park where homeless individuals occupy benches and comments on raising taxes. “And we raised $8 billion in taxes for critical programs like free health care for sex workers and lucrative no-bid contracts for politically connected people,” she says.

The ad also features AI-Hochul expressing concerns about rising energy prices while showing her digital counterpart strolling among wind turbines. “Thanks to our hard work, we lead the country in awarding energy contracts to foreign companies, which means our utility bills will go up, but I’m now invited to all the best donor dinners,” the AI version states while mingling with well-dressed men at a simulated reception.

She goes on to lament the frequency of toll and fare increases, claiming, “We have raised tolls and fares more than 20 times, because the best way to solve congestion is to make it so that ordinary people can’t afford to drive or take the subway.”

A particularly humorous moment in the ad comes when her AI avatar points out a muscular, tattooed man outside the NYPD precinct. “Do you want some crack?” he jokingly asks the AI governor.

The advertisement concludes with AI-Hochul walking along a tree-lined street, proclaiming, “This November, don’t let Bruce Blakeman lower your taxes and make New York safer. Put Kathy Hochul in charge and keep New York safe and unaffordable.” The screen flashes a parody campaign sign reading, “Hochul for criminals, cronies, and illegal immigrants.”

This ad follows Hochul’s appearances in Nassau and Suffolk counties, where Blakeman criticized rivals and highlighted the rising cost of living attributed to policies connected to President Trump.

A recent poll indicates that Hochul’s lead among general election voters has diminished to just six points, with 12% remaining undecided as Election Day approaches on November 3. Blakeman aims to challenge Hochul’s bid for a second full term.
