Bryan Kohberger case: Audio of 911 call released in Idaho student murders

Authorities released a recording of a 911 call that took place in November 2022 after stabbing wounds on four University of Idaho students.

The request for prior public records had been denied due to a gag order in the case, but after the release of last week's transcript, authorities said they no longer believe it has been exempt from disclosure.

The call was placed in authorities at 11:55am on November 13, 2022 at 11:55am Madison Morgen (21, Kayley Goncalves, 21, 20), Ethan Chapin, hours after 2022, at 11:55am local time, and 20-year-old Ethan Chapin was allegedly killed at the hands of Brian Coberger. A student at nearby Washington State University, just 10 miles away.

In a desperate call that appears to have been placed by someone who did not live with the victim, the female caller can hear sobs and reports that “something is going on” inside the house at 1122 King Road in Moscow.

According to court documents, one of Chapin's friends discovered the horrifying scene and instructed the others to call 911. Police arrived within five minutes.

“One of our… roommates have passed away and were drunk last night and not awake,” the caller tells the dispatcher. “Yeah, they saw some guys at their house last night.”

When the 911 dispatcher asks the phone number the woman is calling, she can hear the other person asking, “What is your phone number?”

The phone number is edited from the audio recording.

The woman stops to talk to several others in the background throughout the call, urging 911 dispatchers to ask them to stop giving others.

On March 6, Fox News Digital first revealed unsealed court documents containing text messages from two roommates who survived the murder. The batch also includes a written transcript of 911 calls.

Roommates are identified only as DMs and BFs in the filing.

Kohberger is accused of committing the murder at about 4am on the day of the murder and leaving the house by 4:17am.

From 4:22am to 4:24am, DM and BF woke up inside the house, texting each other and discussing the possible masked intruders.

DMs have previously been identified as the only witness to see an intruder. He describes him as a masked man with “bulging eyebrows.”

Kohberger is said to have been identified under Morgen's body through DNA from a knife sheath left behind at the scene. He was chased in Pennsylvania on December 30, 2022, where state police arrested him at his parents' home.

After Kohberger failed to challenge the method the FBI used to match the DNA evidence in the case, prosecutors proposed a plan in which he claimed his DNA samples were planted, and he was framed.

The judge concluded a plea of ​​innocence to all charges on his behalf in May 2023.

His trial is scheduled to begin on August 11th. Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty if he is found guilty.
