It was a dark and cloudy night.
30-year-old Brian Coberger was a PhD. On November 13th, 2022, a student at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. Prosecutors claimed that they quickly drove to the University of Idaho, nearby Moscow, Idaho, and killed four students in an invasion of the 4am home.
His defense says he was on a drive and didn't go to the student's apartment.
According to Andrew Wulfeck, prosecutors at the National Weather Service Records Idaho will be introducing the upcoming trial show Fog, between the decline in visibility and low clouds at the time. Fox weather Meteorologist and digital producer.

It was not immediately clear why the prosecutor wanted to introduce weather records to the court, but we can challenge the alibi that he was “driving in the early hours of November 13th, 2022.”
Prosecutors who separately asked the court to abandon their alibi asked to introduce NWS records from November 12th and 13th, 2022.
Wolfeck said that while the fog had not been dense enough to affect travel at the time, it would have created a “unpleasant evening.”

“In addition to the fog, the cloud deck looked quite low. We thought this would likely not be the best night for a type of activity, such as Stargaze, if we couldn't find a break in the clouds,” he added.
He said he had drawn the records himself and found a prominent point.
“Temperatures on both dates were below seasonal average or significantly lower, probably due to a high pressure ridge that settled west of the mountain,” he told Fox News Digital. “Data from weather observation sites provides a wealth of information, ranging from temperatures and wind speeds to sky conditions, and even typical times of sunrise and sunset.”

The nearest observation site is at Pullman Moscow Regional Airport, halfway between Washington State University's former apartment, Coberger, and the crime scene just across the state line from the University of Idaho campus.
“We reported that our visibility was reduced due to the night of November 12th and fog on November 13th, but the fog did not reach an alert-raising level,” Wolfeck said. “Fost forms when the air temperature and dew point are roughly identical, which is common in eastern Washington and western Idaho in November.”

Fog and clouds were predicted in advance, but meteorologists have now proven accurate, he said.
While you might see normal features in the sky that night, he added that there was nothing surprising like the solar eclipse or supermoon where a typical stargazer hunts.
Kohberger's team asked the court to remove weather records from his upcoming trial, along with his Amazon shopping history and other important evidence.

“[This is] Another piece of information that doesn't seem to be shaped by Kaeberger's favor” and said the court document revelation last week in which Kaeberger allegedly bought a Ka-bar knife and sheath set on Amazon for “catastrophe” has continued last week.
The November 2022 murder killed Madison Morgen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Zana Carnodor, 20 and 20 years old, Ethan Chapin. Under Morgen's body, police found that prosecutors had Coberger's DNA on the snap.

The selection of the ju judge is scheduled for July 30th, and the official start date is August 11th.
The previous judge entered into a plea for not guilty in May 2023 on behalf of Coberger. He could face the death penalty if convicted.
