Country artist Nate Smith loses over 70 pounds and shares his new weight loss goal

Nate Smith’s Weight Loss Journey

Nate Smith is feeling rejuvenated, thanks to his transformative weight loss journey. The country music artist shared that everyday tasks used to leave him feeling breathless. However, after shedding over 70 pounds, he has found a renewed sense of energy.

Smith made these remarks at the Sports Illustrated and Tight End University’s Tight Ends & Friends Concert held in Nashville last month. Now, he’s setting his sights on a new target.

In a surprising twist, it seems Billy Ray Cyrus faced challenges with his health, battling sepsis and vocal cord paralysis just as he was ready to get back into music.

Smith expressed his goal to weigh under 200 pounds, having previously weighed around 275. “I really want to get back down to about 185 pounds,” he noted.

When asked what inspired his healthier lifestyle, Smith emphasized the importance of being at his best for his fans. “Keeping that energy on stage is crucial,” he stated, adding that he appreciates the freedom to wear whatever he likes.

“This is a big deal for me. I’ve been stuck in Double X for the past five or six years, so it feels really nice to change it up,” he said, referring to his red carpet ensemble.

Smith reflected on the positive changes he’s experienced, mentioning, “I’m not sweating anymore, which is incredible. There were moments when tying my shoelaces had me gasping for air.” He feels more mobile, saying that he can move around more effortlessly now.

This journey for him started as he began tackling health issues, like overeating and drinking. In a few months, he managed to drop close to 50 pounds. For him, it wasn’t merely about cutting calories; it was a broader lifestyle shift.

Smith candidly admitted that he still grapples with bulimia but is working to change his relationship with food. “If I indulge in mac and cheese, that’s fine,” he remarked, reflecting a more balanced approach. “I’m not quite at my target yet, but I’m definitely happier with my progress and my appearance.”
