Bud Light Tries Partnering with Canceled Comedian Shane Gillis to Get Mulvaney Stink off Brand

Bud Light has teamed up with right-wing comedian Shane Gillis as part of a rebrand, following a near-disastrous partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

The company announced the partnership with Gillis in an Instagram post.

“Welcome to the team @shanemgillis. We look forward to joining you on tour in 2024,” the company said.

“Excited to announce our partnership with Budlight #budlightpartner.” Gillis confirmed on her Instagram account..

Gillis was fired from NBC’s Saturday Night Live in 2019 after long-standing jokes derogatory toward Asians and gays resurfaced and went viral online.

The partnership comes after Bud Light became the official beer of the UFC in an effort to restore its image, after which Kid Rock asked for forgiveness and officially called off his boycott of the company.

“So just because they made a mistake, do I want to shove their head under water and drown them? No, I think they got the message,” Kid Rock said in a recent interview. told Tucker Carlson.

“As a God-fearing person, as a Christian, I have to believe in forgiveness,” he previously told Sean Hannity.

UFC CEO Dana White echoed similar sentiments.

“They employ 65,000 Americans and thousands of veterans. I’m buying crops. There are many other reasons why I did this,” White said.

“Where I personally sit with my core values is that even though the UFC is a global sport and we have fighters from all over the world, the core values of the UFC are I felt like, “This is an American company. And I love this country, and more than that, I love that I’m aligned with someone who sponsors the UFC and who I work with every day.” It’s important,” he added.

Bud Light was at the center of intense controversy last year when it briefly partnered with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, sparking massive backlash. In the months that followed, sales of Bud His Light skyrocketed and Modelo overtook the brand as America’s number one beer.

Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light distributors have laid off hundreds of employees following the beer brand’s dramatic decline.

Mulvaney addressed the backlash he received when he won the Breakout Creator Award at the 2023 Streamy Awards.

“My life has changed for the better, but at the same time there is extreme transphobia and hatred, and I know that my community feels it, and even our allies feel it. I know,” Mulvaney said.

“As I look around this room, I see that there are so many great allies who have platforms, and I think that allies today need to look differently. We need to support you.”

Anheuser-Busch has sidelined Bud Light’s vice president of marketing, Alyssa Heinerscheidt, after she said the brand was “in decline” and criticized Bud Light and its “sneaky” approach to beer sales. suggested that the “unconventional” approach needed to change.
