Miami Grand Prix Marks F1’s Return After a Break

After a surprising month-long pause—during which races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia were postponed due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East—Formula 1 is set to resume with this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix.

This race is particularly special as it marks Cadillac’s first home event. To celebrate the occasion, they’ve introduced a striking new livery.

The team, established as a collaboration between TWG Motorsports and General Motors, is currently in its debut season in F1. While their performance in the last three races, plus one sprint, hasn’t been stellar, there’s still a lot of buzz surrounding this American team.

Cadillac isn’t the only U.S. team on the circuit—Haas is also competing—but they lean heavily into their American identity. This is especially evident with their newly unveiled livery for Miami, which is the first of three U.S. races this season.

Honestly, it looks fantastic. I’d rate it a solid 10 out of 10—no notes at all. The combination of the classic black and white scheme with the American flag integrated into the design is just seamless.

What really grabs me are the touches of red, white, and blue, particularly the “USA” displayed on the underside of the rear wing. It’s a clever way to show patriotism while still keeping the overall aesthetic intact. I actually prefer this version over their usual livery, which was already quite good.

They’ve also got matching fire protection gear ready for this weekend. Hopefully, with this fresh look and some time off, Cadillac can find their footing and score points in F1, as they are still on the hunt for their first.

Some might say I was a tad too optimistic about Cadillac’s chances earlier this season. Sure, they have a strong driver lineup with Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, and their MAC-26 is powered by a Ferrari engine. However, unlike teams like Ferrari and Haas, Cadillac hasn’t quite managed to tap into its full potential yet.

It’s Sprint Week in Miami, and I’m looking forward to seeing how they perform when they hit the track for practice on Friday—the only session scheduled for this weekend.
