Caitlyn Jenner suggests run for California governor, says of possible Harris challenge: ‘I would destroy her’

Republican Caitlyn Jenner responded positively to a suggestion on social media that a transgender activist run for governor of California.

Jenner said a run for governor may be on the cards after President-elect Donald Trump was able to shift nearly every county, including much of California, to the right. The activist previously ran for governor of California in a 2021 recall election, but received only 1% of the vote.

“Should we do it again? We've gotten a lot of calls with a lot of strong opinions,” Jenner said. Posted on social media.

“Newscam will retire in 2026,” Jenner added, referring to current Gov. Gavin Newsom, who is leaving office term-limited.

“The MAGA/America First movement is not as bigoted as the intolerant left. If I were to run, I would run proudly as a Republican. We are a big tent party, and we are for everyone. Good cause!” read Jenner’s second tweet.

Jenner also noted that Vice President Kamala Harris is potentially running for governor of California after a disastrous presidential campaign. Politico reported that Harris has told allies and aides to prepare while she considers other campaign options.
