The California County Commission voted this week to invest $2.2 million in taxpayer funds to protect foreigners from President Donald Trump's deportation efforts.
During a meeting of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, members voted unanimously to invest millions of people in providing legal services and other resources to the area's immigrant communities. In February, the board allocated an additional $1.3 million to the Alameda County Public Defense Department immigration force.

Another $700,000 will be sent to the Centro Legal de La Raza to “provide a quick response hotline and understand rights training, pre-legal services and coordination of community volunteer network response.”
