California Assemblyman Bill Essari (R-CA) recently proposed a bill that would circumvent California’s sanctuary law only for illegal immigrants who harm children.
He seemed certain to win, but all state Democrats voted against the motion.
“I was inspired by two specific cases that happened in California,” Essari said. Glenn Beck.
In one such case, a Colombian illegal immigrant raped a 14-year-old girl. ICE wanted to deport illegal immigrants, but California law makes it illegal for sheriffs and law enforcement agencies to comply with ICE requests or cooperate with immigration authorities.
The immigrant was later arrested in Boston, Massachusetts, and eventually deported.
“That’s the genesis of this bill. I said, why does California law protect pedophiles? Why would we do this?” Essari explained, adding, “All it says is it removes sanctuary state status for child sex offenders. If you’re convicted of a sex crime against a minor, you have to comply with the orders of immigration authorities.”
The bill would not allow sanctuary states for anyone other than convicted pedophiles.
“Obviously, if I were running this place I would reverse the entire policy, but I said, we’re only 18 of the 80 people here, and we don’t control the policy. Let’s put them on the record and expose the Democrats for what they are,” Essari continued. “They’re more interested in protecting illegal immigrant pedophiles than they are in doing the right thing and protecting the American people.”
As Essari recalled it, last week illegal immigrants were driving around the streets of Los Angeles, picking up women and young children and raping them in “rape vans.”
“He is an illegal immigrant and is currently protected from deportation under state law,” Essari said nervously.
Glenn agreed, telling Essari, “California has just become corrupt.”
“The only way to explain what’s going on is true evil,” he added.
