A California man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting and tying up an elderly man in his home during a home invasion.
Luis Juato Talavera, 31, is charged with burglary, kidnapping, false imprisonment and elder abuse.
According to a press release from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, the incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday at a residence in the 15000 block of Washington Street in the Woodcrest neighborhood of Riverside, California.

The victim told police that two suspects entered the home, assaulted the homeowner, tied him up, and then entered the residence.
The homeowner was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
An investigation into the incident revealed that the suspects stole two vehicles and several handguns from the home.
One of the stolen vehicles was later located and investigators pursued it, but the investigation ended when Talavera crashed into a fence in the 23000 block of Old Road in Perris. Talavera fled the vehicle, which caught fire and was later extinguished by firefighters. Talavera was taken into custody by officers.
Talavera was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred during a home invasion.

Investigators are still searching for the second suspect.
