California man allegedly stabbed multiple people; was arrested, released week prior

A California man was arrested Saturday morning on suspicion of stabbing two people and attacking two others.

Efrain Troncoso, 22, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and attempted vehicle theft, according to Ventura police.

The first incident occurred just after 7 a.m. near Ash Street and Thompson Boulevard, where the victim reported being stabbed in the back by a man on a bicycle.

While police were assisting the man, a woman was walking on Chestnut Street and reported that a man had stabbed her in the neck.

Just minutes later, another man reported being hit in the head with a metal pipe and robbed by the suspect.

While police were searching for the suspect, another victim called 911 and reported that she had been robbed at knifepoint by a man who took her car keys.

A 12-year-old minor was arrested in San Francisco on suspicion of a series of merchandise retail crimes valued at $84,000.

All four attacks occurred within 30 minutes of each other and were within five blocks of each other.

Police found Troncoso inside the car, which he had broken into after trying to start it with the stolen keys, and took him into custody.

Troncoso had been arrested several times in Moorpark, including last week on suspicion of arson and resisting arrest, but was released on Nov. 12, police said. He had previously been arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
