Canada’s Liberals Ride End of Trudeau, Trump Tariffs to Top of the Polls

Many referendums announced this week found Canada's left-wing liberals to be modest, or effectively tied up, with the Conservatives. Their best votes following this week's resignation of unpopular Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the resignation of a chaotic political situation exacerbated by the threats President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened the country.

Canada is planning to hold a general election this year, as it legally needs to do so by the end of October. However, Liberal Prime Minister Mark Carney, who took over Trudeau last week, is expected to seek elections much earlier than this fall.

Before the liberals replaced Trudeau with unelected Carney, conservatives enjoyed double-digit leads in the polls under the leadership of Congressman Pierre Poilierble, spiked by combining the Liberals with the New Democrats on the left (NDP). The lead almost disappeared from Trudeau's public eye and Carney (an unelected technocrat with no political experience before becoming head of government).

CBC News average A poll on Tuesday found that the Liberals had garnered 35.9% support compared to 38.1% of the Conservatives. NDP is one third, at 1.4%.

“Conservatives hold a narrow lead on the vote average, which takes into account more research conducted over a longer period, but several recently released studies have led liberals nationwide,” observed the CBC.

Liberals hit a lowest point in recent memory on the CBC average in January, bringing their support down to 20%. After Trudeau announced his resignation that month, their support began to slowly rise until it passed the 35-point mark this week.

Individual polls considered in the average view show equally disastrous changes for conservatives. investigation Published By National Post On Monday, it discovered a three-point lead for the Liberals (42% of 39% of the Conservatives) and a NDP gaining 9% support. Opinion survey Published The Angus Reed Institute found 42% support for liberals compared to 37% of conservatives. Third poll survey Published On Tuesday, the Liberal Party was found to account for 39% of the Conservative Party, with the National Ethnic Press and Media Council (NEPMCC) implemented by the Liaison Strategy.

This trend appears to have begun in late February. The Ipsos Company has released a poll that outperforms the Liberal Party, which for the first time since 2021, is 38-36% more than the Conservatives. Analysts this week suggest that Carney's position as a political beginner and the still known length of his campaign do not guarantee that the decline of conservatives will not continue.

Andrew Enns of Leger, it voted together National Postnoting that a considerable number of voters showed that there was no particular clearly defined about Kearney. Carney is the head of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England and is largely present in politics as Trudeau's informal adviser on issues such as the Uhan coronavirus pandemic and climate change.

“I'm sure you'll talk to political strategists. They'll also say there's a risk there, with that unpainted canvas, they'll start filling it up like they want, so who grabs the paintbrush, that can be a bit of a problem,” Ens said.

Leger's poll found that 28% of respondents knew enough about Kearney and felt it would form an option. In contrast, less than half of them said the same about Polyeielle, who joined Congress at the age of 25 in 2004 – 12 percent.

Commenting on his own vote, Liaison Strategy's David Valentin similarly observed that the election was not so urgent that it would secure a liberal lead.

“It's also important to remember that elections have not yet begun. The warrant period provides an opportunity for Mr. Carney to fail and conservatives to regain the lead,” Valentin said. I made a comment. “But the same applies to the other way around. There's plenty of time for Poilliebre and the conservatives to stumble, allowing Carney to further strengthen his position at the expense of the Conservative Party, the NDP or both.”

As Trudeau came out of his political figure, Poilierble refocused his campaign against Carney and tried to brand him as the worst negotiator on tariffs against President Trump.

“Donald Trump will get a big smile on his face as he is making use of all the many conflicts in Carney to attack Canadian workers and Canadian jobs,” Poilierbre said Sunday hours before liberals elected Carney in the closed election to lead them.

“Kearney, who worked at Trudeau, made Canada even weaker and poorer,” he accused. “Working for himself, Carney has made the United States richer and stronger. And for the first time in our history, Canada will have a sleazy prime minister with millions of dollars of economic interests that go directly against our national interests.”

Carney began to face questions internationally this week about his enormous financial benefits and answered his anger.

“Look inside you. You start before conflict and maliciousness,” he snapped to reporters, asking if he would disclose his assets on Monday. “I worked in the private sector. I stood up to Canada. I left my role in the private sector during our country's crisis. I adhere to all the rules.”
