Canadian Terror Attacker Thwarted near Gaza Border

The Israel Defense Forces and police said on Monday that an attempted terror attack by a Canadian was thwarted near Kibbutz Netiv Hasara on the border with the Gaza Strip.

The security situation in this area is Intensified Since Hamas-led terrorists killed about 20 people in riots in southern Israel on October 7 that sparked the Gaza war.

“The suspect arrived at the entrance to Netiv Ha’Asala, got out of his vehicle and threatened members of the community emergency response team who were operating in the area with a knife,” the IDF later said about the incident. Per of Jerusalem Post.

The knife-wielding terrorist was thwarted after the rapid response team opened fire on the suspect.

The media reported that paramedics from Israel’s emergency services agency, Magen David Adom (MDA), reported that a terrorist had been arrested and that a 61-year-old woman was in a state of shock.

“No one was physically injured,” the MDA added.

According to Israeli media reports, the terrorist was a Canadian who arrived at the entrance to the kibbutz and claimed that the IDF was killing Gaza civilians.

The Israel Defense Forces later confirmed that the dead person was a foreigner, who the military said had not crossed the border from Gaza but had arrived in the area from inside Israel, the report said.
