A Phoenix, Arizona couple survived after a car crashed into their home while they were eating dinner Friday evening.
Marcus Holmberg and Sabrina Rivera were in their living room when the Mustang crashed through a wall in their home, 12 News reported. Reported on sunday.
Holmberg said the accident happened quickly and was “explosive.” Holmberg, Rivera and their dog narrowly avoided being hit by a car. Run away According to 12News, only minor injuries were reported.
The driver was arrested and authorities believe intoxication was a factor, according to troopers.
Video footage shows Holmberg's moment. stroll He ran into the living room, and seconds later there was a crash. The house was quickly covered in dust, and Holmberg was pushed against the wall. He reached out to Rivera to make sure she was OK.
“It was all coming at 30, 40, 50 miles per hour because that's how fast the car was going,” Holmberg recalled. “It was all coming at me. There's rocks everywhere. My doors don't close anymore and they're cracked.”
The couple has since Created A GoFundMe page to help with repairs to the home. As of Monday afternoon, the page had raised $2,385 of its $30,000 goal.
Holmberg wrote about the fundraiser:
We are just trying to survive. [W]We only ask for the bare minimum to fix our house…[a]The truck was repaired. The insurance company will fight us. They may not pay for a place for us to stay…[s]We are reaching out to our friends, families and communities for help.
It will take some time to clean up, but the couple is thankful to be alive.
“The thing that makes me wonder the most is how on earth we got so lucky. I don't believe in luck. Someone was watching over us to protect us,” he said.
