Carson Tahoe Health and Nevada State Health Authority Extend UMR Contract
Carson Tahoe Health (CTH) and the Nevada State Health Authority (NVHA) have announced that they have successfully extended CTH’s contract with United Medical Resources (UMR), the state’s health insurance provider.
After several months of discussions, this extension is now finalized, allowing Nevada employees to continue choosing CTH for their medical care.
“We appreciate the support from the Governor’s Office and the Nevada Department of Health throughout this process,” stated Michelle Joy, president and CEO of Carson Tahoe Health. “This extension underscores the importance of CTH in providing healthcare services to the numerous state employees and their families in the Quad County area who depend on us.”
With 20 locations across Northern Nevada, reaching an agreement with state officials was crucial. CTH has received multiple awards for clinical excellence and has been recognized as one of the best healthcare workplaces both in the state and nationally.
Governor Joe Lombardo expressed pride in the collaborative effort, saying, “I commend the hard work of our Nevada Department of Health team, along with Carson Tahoe Health and UMR staff, for helping state employees achieve this important milestone.” He emphasized that enhancing access to healthcare is a primary focus for his administration, highlighting the need for local continuity of care for state employees and their families.
This new agreement will keep Nevada employees linked to all services and networks offered by Carson Tahoe Health, with the contract now valid until June 30, 2027.
