Authorities at Beach Resort City of Asapulco have confirmed that an unknown gunman threw a handgun bullet into a police building, killing the two.
The attack took place on Friday morning outside the headquarters of the Acapulco Public Safety Secretariat shortly after 5am, information released by Attorney General Guerrero's office.
Details of the attack remain unknown, but authorities found the bodies of a man and woman believed to have been riding bikes along the street when the explosion occurred. The explosion is believed to have come from a backpack left by a convenience store across the street from the police building.

- In April 2019, a group of gunmen caused a car bomb in a rural community outside Acapulco. The attack took place outside the headquarters of the local community police, Breitbart, Texas, reported at the time.
