Cat Detained in Bangkok for Biting Officers During Rescue, Photo Goes Viral

A curious incident unfolded at a Bangkok police station when an American shorthair cat was brought in on May 9th after reportedly biting several officers. Officer Da Perlinda Pakescu shared the quirky tale of the feline, which someone had found wandering and thought to rescue.

Instead of being thankful, the cat—named Nub Tang, which translates to “counting money”—seemed to take offense, acting aggressively towards the officers despite being in a cute pink harness. Pakeesuk took to Facebook, humorously announcing that the cat was “charged” with attacking an officer and was about to be detained. He even urged people to share the post in hopes the cat’s owner would come to reclaim it.

In a heartwarming yet comical turn, Pakeesuk shared a picture of the cat lounging in his car. He mentioned that he had created a friendly environment stocked with food and toys for the unexpected guest. In another post, he captured a moment of the cat relaxing next to a local record shop, joking that while the cat was living its best life, the police were the real victims in this scenario.

Once the post gained traction, some social media users playfully suggested recruiting cats, but Pakescu emphasized that finding Nub Tang’s owner was the priority. Ultimately, the next day, the owner arrived at the station. To wrap up the amusing situation, Pakescu penned a fictional police report from the cat’s perspective, humorously stating, “I was just hungry. I wasn’t going to bite anyone.” He handed the cat back with a playful note, warning that future “chewers” might face serious consequences.
