Last weekend at the German Munich Security Conference, Vice President JD Vance gave a grand speech, denounced European censorship policies and claiming that the US supplements and protects the right to free expression under President Donald Trump. I did it.
Christoph Husgen, chairman of the Security Council in Munich, literally cried out in response to Vance's speech, lamenting the fact that “common value bases are no longer so common.”
In the wake of Vance's speech, CBS's “60 Minutes” aired an episode in which Shalin Alfonsi investigated Germany's nationwide crackdown on hate speech. Alfonsi met with state prosecutors, accompanied police on the hate speech attack and spoke with an organization intended to combat “harmful content.”
CBS had already caught Flak Lack of pushbacks for episodes On German authoritarian policies before Anchor Margaret Brennan made it even worse.
Jill Savage from “Blaze News Tonight” plays a clip in which Brennan, sparring with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, makes an outrageous claim that the Holocaust was caused by free speech.

Brennan criticized Vance's speech, suggesting he was deaf. “He stood in a country where freedom of speech was weaponized to carry out genocide.”
Thankfully, Rubio didn't have it.
“No, I have to oppose you. Free speech was not used to implement genocide. Genocide, which happened to be by chance, because it hated Jews and hated minorities. It was carried out by the authoritarian Nazi regime. …Nazi Germany had no freedom of speech,” Rubio revised.
“What Margaret Brennan said was one of the most insane things I've ever seen,” says Prime Minister Matthew Peterson's editor of Blaze News.
He says, “Would you go back in time and kill Baby Hitler?” “Before you write the first revision that will cause Nazi Germany, do you go back in time and kill baby James Madison?”
“This just reveals what these people are actually thinking,” Peterson says. It mentions supporters of censorship in both the government and the media.
They believe “they should be in charge and there is no need to provide any arguments or anything. They only deserve the right to control and shut down those who oppose them.”
