Charlamagne says ‘all I hear is ego’ from Biden, calls on Democrats to challenge him for nomination at DNC

Radio host “Charlaman the God” on Tuesday urged Democrats to accept President Biden’s challenge to face him at the Democratic National Convention.

Amid calls for Biden to step aside and install another Democrat as the top candidate, he declared in a phone call on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Monday, “I’m not going anywhere.” During the interview, Biden slammed the “elites” he claims run the Democratic Party.

“If you don’t think I should run, I want you to run against me. I want you to announce your candidacy for president and challenge me at the convention,” Biden said.

Charmagne played an audio of the interview on his show, The Breakfast Club, and said, “All I hear is ego. I hope the Democrats take him up on his offer. Every Democrat who thinks they can’t win if Biden is the nominee needs to challenge him at the convention. I hope they take him up on his offer.”

Radio host “Sharmaan the God” claimed that rather than redeeming himself in a future press conference, “he will fail in public”.

She added that she has been asking for months whether the Biden-Harris combination is a “winnable combination,” adding, “If the answer is no, Biden should step aside. And don’t get upset when people say that, especially if they want to win.”

Charlamagne also rejected Biden’s comments contrasting Democratic “elites” who he says want to replace him with ordinary Americans who he says still support him.

“What’s the difference between an average Democrat and an elite Democrat? He’s been in elected office for over 80 years! So how isn’t he elite? What makes you elite and what makes you average?” Charmagne asked.

The programme featured audio of Trump saying that Biden was “likely to stay” because of his “ego”, but that if he did step down, Vice President Kamala Harris would take his place.

Trump’s approval rating tops 50%, he leads Biden on two key voter issues: poll

“I believe he’s going to continue,” Charmagne said. “I didn’t think the Democrats would win, but with the party in such disarray, I’m not sure they can win.”

Charmagne later argued that Harris was the only viable alternative to top the shortlist and that another Democrat should serve as her running mate.

As Democrats criticized those in their party who question whether Biden could win and handle the job of president, the radio host insisted the debate was something that needed to happen.

“This debate is happening because the candidates are so terrible,” Charmagne said. “If President Biden wasn’t so terrible, this debate wouldn’t be happening. That’s why this debate is happening. You can’t just blame people for this! People are not just speaking their minds here!”

After another host said he expected Biden would be able to salvage his image in public at a news conference scheduled for Thursday, Charmagne responded, “He’s going to fail. He’s going to fail publicly.”
