clock:
“I think it’s very hypocritical to talk about an oligarchy when all of America’s elected officials have been puppets of PACs and corporate donors for years, you know. it sounds [Independent Vermont Sen.] Bernie Sanders speaks, [Democratic Pennsylvania Sen.] John Fetterman talks about how we have to get all corporate money out of politics. ”
Charlamagne also said that what sets billionaire Elon Musk, a Trump supporter during the 2024 presidential campaign, apart from other wealthy political donors is how open he is to the public. He suggested that the only question is whether there is one. In this sense, the radio host likened Musk to rapper and entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs.
“Elon Musk is the guy right there…I used to liken Elon Musk to Diddy, which sounds crazy now, but what I'm talking about is if he's on video or recording… The fact that I like everything to be on display,” Charlamagne said. “He tweets all the time. He's the face of it now. But this has been going on for years.”
In his speech, Biden also expressed concern about the “potential rise of a high-tech industrial complex.” Since Trump's victory in November, multiple technology companies, including Google, Meta and Microsoft, have contributed to his first fund.
“It could also pose a real danger to our country. The American people are being buried under an avalanche of misinformation and disinformation, abuses of power are being enabled, and freedom of the press is crumbling.” president said. “Editors are disappearing. Social media is abandoning fact-checking. The truth is being obscured by lies for power and profit.”
