Lynx Coach Addresses WNBA Dildo Incident
During practice on Thursday, Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve took a moment to address the ongoing issue surrounding the presence of a green dildo that has made appearances during WNBA games.
Reeve pointed out that this ongoing situation—where a green dildo was thrown onto the court on three separate occasions—has led to the objectification of female players. She asserted that anyone implicated in these acts should face the consequences.
“This has been a long-standing issue—sexualizing women,” she remarked. “This is just the latest form of that, and it shouldn’t be treated lightly or turned into a joke on various platforms.”
She emphasized, “The sexualization of women is a means to suppress them. This isn’t just a game; those responsible need to be held accountable.” Reeve’s passion was evident as she called for action against the individuals involved.
The group behind Green Dildocoin has taken credit for these incidents, which have disrupted WNBA games and sparked discussions about accountability.
Most recently, a green dildo landed on the court during a Sparks game against the Fever just before halftime, while another incident occurred during a Liberty-Wings match, where fans attempted to throw a similar item, although it didn’t reach the court.
The first reported occurrence of this nature took place during a game between the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries on July 29.
On August 2, police arrested 23-year-old Delbert Carver in connection with one of the incidents, while 18-year-old Kaden Lopez was taken into custody related to another occurrence during a game between the Mercury and Sun.
Another similar incident disrupted the Valkyries-Sky game on August 1.
