“We can't send gang members and criminals into our country through our borders and our broken walls and then have them infiltrate our communities that are already impoverished and broken,” Muhammad, 53, told The Post recently.

He also warned that “when the black gangs here get tired of the illegal and criminal activities of immigrants and foreigners, the city of Chicago will burn. And as bloodshed spreads through the city, there will be nothing the National Guard or the government can do. It will be blacks versus immigrants.”

The international crime organization Tren de Aragua has rapidly expanded its presence in the United States in recent years, reportedly taking over an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, The Blaze News previously reported.

Sources told The Post that Tren de Aragua members in the Chicago area are armed and fearless. The South Side neighborhood is home to many gangs, including the Gangster Disciples, Black P. Stones, Vice Lords, Latin Kings and Satan Disciples. The TDA has also been flowing into the area, raising concerns that the conflict could escalate.

Many Venezuelan immigrants, including gang members, live at the Standard Club shelter in downtown Chicago, where shelter officials told The Post that no criminal activity is occurring inside the facility and that no TDA members live there.

But a Freedom of Information Act request filed by Chicago activists Muhammad and Terry Newsom uncovered 720 police incident reports relating to sex trafficking, child pornography, drugs, carjacking, weapons and domestic violence at the site over the past 12 months, The Post reported.

South Side residents, including gang members, told the paper they are angry and frustrated with the city's treatment of new immigrants.

“The real problem is that America has allowed gangs into the country,” said David, the Gangster Disciples member.

We give them thousands of dollars and we only get like $400 a month. And they don't even have Social Security numbers!”

Corey Rogers, a member of Black P. Stone, added to the Post: “What I’m concerned about is Venezuelans coming together.”

“Black gangs are so divided, they're taking each other down,” Rogers explained.

Muhammad formed a group of ex-inmates who support Trump after feeling the Democratic Party had let down inner-city residents.

“It's not so much about Trump himself, it's about the Democrats failing us,” he told the Post. [upwardly mobile] Black people may love Kamala Harris, but she's not going to do anything for us.”

Pastor Corey Brooks echoed the sentiment in the paper about the failure of Democratic policies: “Chicago is a Democratic city and Illinois is a Democratic state, but people are waking up. It's not about people, it's about policies. I've seen with my own eyes what's going on with immigrant criminal gangs, and it's very disturbing.”

The Chicago mayor's office did not respond to The Washington Post's request for comment.
