Chloe Cole Files Lawsuit Against Kaiser Permanente

Chloe Cole, an activist advocating against the medical transition of minors, has announced her intention to sue Kaiser Permanente. She alleges the healthcare provider committed fraud and malpractice during her gender transition process, which she claims has caused her long-term harm.

In an interview, Cole shared, “I am suing Kaiser Permanente for fraud and malpractice after being transitioned medically from ages 12 to 16. They put me on puberty blockers and testosterone, leading to a double mastectomy that caused significant harm to my life.” She added, “It robbed me of crucial childhood years and has had a lasting impact on both my physical and mental health.”

Cole’s transition journey began when she was just 12, and by 15, she was undergoing hormone therapy and had the mastectomy. She noted that transitioning was the only option discussed within her family and was never approached with any dialogue about the potential risks or regrets associated with detransitioning.

Cole expressed, “There was absolutely no exploration of the potential for regret or even the possibility of detransitioning. The focus was solely on the positives of transition.” As she reflects on her experience, Cole feels that critical questions about her identity and feelings were overlooked, reinforcing her transition instead of delving deeper into her struggles.

Her parents reportedly faced pressure from healthcare providers, who suggested that without immediate intervention, Cole could face severe repercussions, including suicidal thoughts. “My mom and dad were told she would probably die if she didn’t follow through with this treatment, as I would become increasingly feminine during puberty,” she recounted.

Cole’s legal team, representing her through the American Freedom Center, is pushing for justice not just for her, but for many other minors experiencing similar challenges. “I hope to cover my recovery costs and, more importantly, set a precedent for other families facing these issues,” she remarked. “My story isn’t just mine; it resonates with countless others across the nation.”

Mark Trammell, CEO of the American Freedom Center, suggested that Cole’s lawsuit might ignite a wave of similar cases. He compared the situation to early legal actions against Big Tobacco, indicating that a successful outcome for Cole could provide hope and motivate others to seek justice.

Kaiser Permanente has not yet responded to requests for comments regarding the lawsuit.
