Chris Cillizza apologizes for letting White House shame him into ignoring Biden’s cognitive decline

Former CNN political analyst admitted It allowed the White House the embarrassment of ignoring President Joe Biden's signs of cognitive decline.

Chris Cillizza acknowledged this in a YouTube video, blaming media personnel for their lack of curiosity.

“It's not a partisan thing to ask these questions. It's journalism's job to ask those questions.”

“As a reporter, I have something to confess.” said Silitza. “We should have worked sooner to get more information about Joe Biden's physical and mental health and signs of decline.”

He said Republicans will pursue Biden's health, but his administration will accuse media outlets that try to cover it of bias.

“The White House and those around Joe Biden have been adamant that it is offensive to ask or suggest anything about whether he is in decline physically, mentally, or both. 'Why would you do that? That's age-shaming.' And I think that affected me on some level,'' Shilitza continued.

Sillizza said he became more vocal about Biden's health after he was fired from CNN in December 2022.

“Maybe we should have put more effort into the Biden era. In retrospect, those close to him know that at best he had some good days and some bad days. It's obvious that he did,” he added.

Although Schritza appeared to regret his failure as a journalist, he went on to create an environment in which the media could openly criticize President-elect Donald Trump over questions about his mental health.

“I think this is a lesson that we have to learn going forward, because, again, if Donald Trump serves a four-year term, he will be the oldest president in history. I'm going to keep that in mind because, again, asking those questions is not the right thing to do.'It's not a partisan thing to ask those questions.'' did.

Biden was forced to abandon his re-election campaign after a disastrous debate with then-candidate Trump revealed his cognitive decline. Some Democrats have since blamed the administration's failure to take the president's resignation seriously for the electoral defeat.
