Chris Pratt Shares His Spiritual Experience While Filming Vatican Documentary

Chris Pratt has expressed a strong connection to his faith during the filming of his upcoming documentary, “Pétros Ení – Discovering the Origins.”

In a recent interview, Pratt discussed how IMAX drone cameras were utilized in his new Vatican documentary involving Pope Leo, which investigates the tomb of St. Peter. He described the experience as “profound,” suggesting it significantly reshaped his understanding of Catholicism.

“It was really profound to be encountering the remains of one of Jesus’ apostles,” he shared, emphasizing the significance of St. Peter’s existence. He elaborated, “There was prophetic word; he said that the church will be built upon that rock. And Simon Peter is the rock.” Reflecting on this, he noted it was meaningful to see the church thriving two millennia later, fulfilling that prophecy.

“I think the idea that St. Peter is there is meaningful—I don’t really have the space to delve into it fully right now, but I’d love to discuss it more with you at some point,” Pratt mentioned in a social media clip released on October 20.

Pratt further articulated his personal insights from the experience. He said, “To be there… and see the prophecy of his words come true, it just was really meaningful to me.”

The documentary, “Pétros Ení,” delves into the archaeological findings associated with St. Peter at the Vatican, inviting audiences to explore a significant intersection of faith and history.

Pratt expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside Pope Leo and the Vatican on this venture. “It was an incredible honor,” he remarked, acknowledging the foundational story of St. Peter in Christian faith and his appreciation for the access he was granted to tell this story on screen.

The documentary is expected to have an international theatrical release in February 2027.
