Fellowship of Christian Athletes Launches New App
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes has rolled out a new app that consolidates its various resources into one accessible platform. This online tool, called the FCA Resources Web App, was introduced last month. According to an FCA representative, it represents “part of a wider Departmental shift” rather than simply a tech upgrade.
“This aligns with our aim to connect with coaches, players, staff, and volunteers on their devices,” the spokesperson stated. They noted that, with people spending upwards of seven hours daily on screens, this mobile-first strategy allows for more effective engagement and support through digital discipleship tools.
Moreover, previously scattered online resources from the FCA can now be easily found in the new app. It integrates Bibles, devotions, reading plans, and other resources into one digital hub.
“Unlike earlier tools, this web app offers a unified experience across devices, enabling coaches, athletes, and volunteers to access gospel-centered materials anytime, anywhere,” the FCA elaborated.
Interestingly, from October 15 to November 11, the app recorded 28,603 users, over 40,000 sessions, and 104,000 page views, along with 41,053 resource views. An FCA representative expressed hope that the app will lead to “meaningful spiritual growth” as opposed to merely providing convenience.
“It’s crafted to assist coaches, athletes, and volunteers in deepening their faith, enhancing their discipleship efforts, and maintaining a connection to FCA’s mission,” they explained.
“Ultimately, we pray this tool will empower all users to interact with the gospel in various settings, be it on the field, at the gym, or in their everyday lives, and to share that gospel with others.”
The app’s debut coincides with FCA’s annual multi-site event known as Field of Faith. The inaugural rally took place in 2004, attracting over 6,000 students in playgrounds across Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, resulting in about 100 conversions to Christianity.
