Christian Moore makes Men’s College World Series history in Tennessee-Florida State

Friday night’s Men’s College World Series game between the Tennessee Volunteers and Florida State Seminoles is still to be decided.

But one player has already made history.

Tennessee infielder Christian Moore hit for the cycle in the game, becoming the first player to accomplish the feat since Jerry Kindall. Hit for the cycle in 1956.

Kindall and Moore became the only two players to hit for the cycle in the Men’s College World Series.

Moore’s first hit came in the bottom of the first inning, when the Tennessee second baseman tripled as the Volunteers’ leadoff hitter. Then in the bottom of the second, Moore smacked a liner down the left field line to score a run and complete a double on his cycle to-do list.

Moore rounded the bases on a throwing error, but the play was credited as a double.

Moore singled to right field in the fourth inning to improve to 3-for-3 on the day, but the infielder still fell one hit short of hitting for the cycle.

Moore met that requirement in the sixth inning.

According to the Tennessee Division of Social Media:Moore’s cycle marks the sixth in program history and the school’s first in the postseason.

Moore is considered one of the top prospects in the upcoming MLB Draft, and in our most recent mock draft, Moore was projected to be selected 21st overall by the Minnesota Twins.

After tonight, that may be too low.
