Christian Olympic champion in women’s wrestling prefers to compete against women only

The Olympic gold medalist in wrestling has spoken out about men participating in women's sports, saying she prefers wrestling with men “only in practice.”

Tamira Mensah-Stock, 32, recently visited Till's Center for the Performing Arts in Brookville, New York, for the 6th Annual Meeting. FOX Nation Patriot Award. Mr. Menserstock, wearing glasses, dreadlocks and a gold cross around his neck, stopped to ask if he had ever competed against so-called trans women in freestyle wrestling.

“No, I'm glad, but I know some people who do,” she replied.

When asked if she would consider doing so in the future, Menserstock hesitated.

“I'll tell you this: I've wrestled a lot of guys in practice and I'll only ever wrestle in practice, because men's wrestling, even if they're 20 pounds smaller than me. Because it’s very difficult,” she explained.

The thought of competing against men in her weight class gave her even more pause. “If they were the same weight as me…” she said, trailing off. And she came to a firm conclusion: “Just do it.”

“It's only by the grace of God that I can move my legs,” she explained. “I just leave it in his hands.”

Mensah-Stock won the hearts of Americans around the world with her fierce patriotism shortly after winning the gold medal in women's freestyle wrestling at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

“I love representing America. I really love living there,” she said with a smile on her face and an American flag wrapped around her shoulders. “I love it. I'm so happy to be representing America!”

Ms. Mensah-Stock was overcome with emotion and expressed her gratitude to God, believing it was God who had given her the talent and means to achieve her dreams.

“It's only by the grace of God that I can even move my legs,” she explained. “I just left it in his hands. I prayed that all the training and practices and hell that these weird coaches put me through would be worth it. Every time I did it, I got better and better. It's so weird to have nothing.''To the limit of what I can do. ”

“I can’t wait to see what we can do next.”

For her love of country and honorable representation of the United States at the Olympics, Fox Nation named Mensah-Stock its 2021 Most Valuable Patriot.

He signed a professional wrestling contract with WWE in May 2023. She hasn't ruled out wrestling with men as part of that agreement.

The FOX Nation Patriot Awards aired Sunday night on Fox New Channel.
