New CIA Initiative Targets Chinese Citizens

CIA Director John Ratcliffe has explained the agency’s strategy to release two videos in Mandarin, aiming to encourage Chinese citizens to connect via the dark web. In an interview on “My Views with Lala Trump,” Ratcliffe described the initiative as a way to gather intelligence on the operations of China’s Communist Party (CCP) and to facilitate complaints from its citizens.

“We’ve put out a video addressing the Chinese population, inviting them to reach out to us through the dark web, as many are unhappy with the current situation,” Ratcliffe shared over the weekend.

The campaign fits into a broader strategy to counter foreign threats and enhance the United States’ negotiating position, especially amid President Donald Trump’s dealings with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

“They could be a significant source of intelligence for us,” Ratcliffe noted.

He has highlighted his mission to depoliticize the CIA and refocus its efforts on intelligence collection rather than political influence. He mentioned past issues, including the handling of the Hunter Biden laptop situation, which he characterized as a form of politicization detrimental to the intelligence community’s integrity.

According to Ratcliffe, “We should maintain an apolitical stance. That’s the expectation from President Trump, and it’s vital for improving our effectiveness. We’re reverting to what truly made the CIA successful.”
