CNN Cutting Trump Spox Mid-Interview ‘Was So Good’

Whoopi Goldberg told her co-stars on ABC’s “The View” on Monday that “it was so good” when CNN host Casey Hunt interrupted her interview with former President Donald Trump’s spokesperson, Caroline Leavitt, as she began talking about debate moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.

After the scene aired, Goldberg said, “That was great. That was great. In a statement afterwards, the young woman claimed, ‘This on-air disregard proves that this person will not be treated fairly at the next debate.’ Do you think this will make people question whether CNN can remain objective, or is that the same thing?”

Co-host Alyssa Farrah Griffin said, “I applaud my and Anna’s friend and colleague at CNN, Casey Hunt, for getting the show back on track, but to me, it highlighted a shocking lack of messaging discipline. You’re a spokesperson for the campaign. You should be on the show to talk about what policies Donald Trump is actively working on for the American people, how he wants to build the middle class and secure the border. But she can’t do that. It’s frustration. It’s anger. It’s retaliation. It’s the same things Trump is struggling with. And let’s be honest, it’s hard to believe there are undecided voters watching CNN who will decide this election. You’re not going to win their support by repeatedly attacking one of the most popular anchors and not focusing on what matters to the American people.”
