Two Years Since Assassination Attempt on Trump
Today, July 13, 2026, marks two years since the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, back in 2024.
While delivering his speech, a gunshot rang out. Instinctively, Trump touched his ear, seemingly unaware at that moment that the bullet had narrowly missed. As chaos erupted, Secret Service agents rushed to his side, shielding him and quickly escorting him off the stage.
In a stunning display of resilience, Trump stood up amid the turmoil, raised his fist, and shouted, “Fight! Fight! Fight!” The crowd, energized, joined in, chanting “USA! USA! USA!”
Despite bleeding from his ear, it was considered miraculous that he survived the incident.
In a recent interview with Fox News, Trump recounted the experience, stating, “God was with me. I turned my head to show the front. I typically never show the right side, but this time I did… If I had turned to the left, I wouldn’t be talking to you right now.”
He humorously added that as the bullet grazed his ear, he thought, “Either you’re the biggest mosquito in history, or you’re shot.”
Reports confirmed that Trump avoided death by mere centimeters, highlighting the precarious nature of the situation.
The gunman, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot and killed by Secret Service members at the scene. Tragically, Corey Comperatore, a firefighter and father, lost his life while trying to protect his family during the attack. Additionally, two other individuals sustained injuries: James Coffenhaber, 74, and David Dutch, 57.
On the anniversary, social media reflected on the resilience shown by Trump, with many highlighting that divine intervention played a role in his survival.
Months after the attempt, Trump addressed a crowd in Butler, emphasizing his determination to continue fighting for them. His words resonated, serving as a reminder of the challenges faced and the spirit of perseverance.
