CNN host Jake Tapper responded to Texas Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s criticism of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) appearance by saying, “She’s a bleached-blond woman with a big build.” “It’s bad,” he said, adding that he fought back “1,000 times more.” , butch body. ”
“You’re really taking what you said. You’re putting it on SWAG,” Tapper told Crockett on Sunday. “How do you respond when I say it’s inappropriate to respond to attacks on someone’s appearance? And I heard Rep. AOC say, ‘You shouldn’t attack someone’s appearance.’ But you did the same thing.” You attacked her appearance. ”
Greene said at a House Oversight Committee hearing Thursday that Crockett’s “false eyelashes are ruining what you’re reading.” Democrats unsuccessfully tried to remove the comments from the record, so Crockett referred questions to Speaker James Comer (R-Ky.). “If someone on this committee starts talking about someone’s bleached-blond, misshapen butch body, that doesn’t involve personality, does it?”
Crockett said he was asking Tapper to explain the ruling, adding that he did not mention Greene by name in his remarks. Tapper previously pointed out that Crockett was clearly referring to Green.

“So, to be clear, what I asked for was an explanation of the sentence,” Crockett told Tapper. “So what are the parameters? And I just wanted to know in general. So I didn’t say anything to her. I specifically asked, but I didn’t even say her name. And that was for explanation, that’s what I asked for. [Comer] Obviously they couldn’t hear me. ”
“I hear that. But she went after your looks, and just like you walked out, you gave her back a thousand times over,” Tapper replied.
Crockett agreed, saying her response was “in accordance with the law” and that she did not regret her comments.
“I won’t do that, because here’s the problem: I registered to be an MP. That doesn’t mean I’m going to hold that office and be in a position of contempt. That’s already a problem.” There’s a hostile work environment and we have rules, but the problem with MAGA is they don’t respect the rules and they don’t respect the law. That’s the thing,” she said.

“Do you know what we’re here for?” Crockett asked Green at one point. The Georgia Republican shot back: “I think your fake eyelashes are ruining what I’m reading.”
