CNN’s panel of analysts and anchors on Thursday accused Jake Tapper of using profane language to criticize Trump after reading a social media post by former President Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen. The panel erupted in laughter.
“Okay… I apologize in advance for this update, but Trump lawyer Todd Blanche has specifically read a post that Michael Cohen posted on Twitter on April 22nd, in which he called out Donald Trump. We call them von Schitzenpants,” Tapper said. CNN reports on President Trump’s hush money trial.
“This is just a record of the facts that I put before you all. It’s in the court record, von Schitzenpants.”
As Tapper continued, the panel assembled at CNN’s studio burst into laughter.
“Mr. Blanche also said that Mr. Cohen’s podcast and TikTok account have repeatedly attacked Mr. Trump and his candidates,” Tapper said. “Dana Bash, I understand that you want to have an opinion about Von Schitzenpants.”
“I think he did that on behalf of all of us,” Bash jokingly retorted.
“I’ve been calling it ‘Von Shit in Pants’ for the past few weeks, and now it’s part of the official record,” Tapper responded.
President Trump is on trial in New York on charges that he falsified business records to conceal hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels just before the 2016 election.
Each major news network is reporting daily on the trial, which is expected to last several weeks.
