Comedian Steve Byrne Calls Gavin Newsom’s Mismanagement of Los Angeles Fires ‘Criminal’

Actor and comedian Steve Byrne — star of the TBS sitcom sullivan and son — Accuses California politicians, including Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D), of mishandling the Los Angeles wildfires, the state's water supply and other related issues. “mismanagement amounts to a crime,'' he said. ”

In a recent Instagram post, Steve Byrne pointed out that his former home in the Los Angeles area had burned down and criticized the state's Democratic leadership.

“California's leadership is to blame for allowing this to go too far,” he wrote. “Lack of water storage (more than 4 billion gallons spilled into the Pacific Ocean last year), lack of water supply/depleted fire hydrants, outdated power lines, controlled fire outages, lost FEMA $$$, etc… Everyone knows why because of us.”

Byrne later added: “The leadership of DWP from Governor Newsom to the Mayor will be incredibly affected by this lack of leadership and foresight. This is criminal from a governance perspective and from a personal perspective. It’s heartbreaking.”

The comedian also shared before-and-after photos of his former home in Pasadena, which burned down in the Eaton fire.

Byrne joins Hollywood insiders in condemning California politicians' mishandling of the unfolding disaster in Los Angeles County.

Others include James Woods, Zachary Levi, Sarah Foster, Dean Cain and Adam Carolla.
