During a segment on CNN’s AC360 on Tuesday, Senator Seth Moulton (D-MA) asserted that President Donald Trump should prioritize resolving issues with Boeing instead of attempting to transform Qatar’s work into a gift jet. He noted that “Congress is actually focusing on pinning Boeing issues.”
Moulton explained that checking the surveillance equipment on the aircraft would require a complete disassembly and then reassembly. This process would involve significant time and cost, emphasizing the need to address Boeing’s problems and ensure the president gets the ordered planes.
Host Anderson Cooper then posed the question: “Can Congress do anything but complain about it?”
Moulton responded, indicating that such action is unlikely in Congress. He stated, “What Congress should do is really focus on solving the issues with Boeing, as those are valid concerns. Personally, I don’t want to fly on an unreliable plane any more than anyone else. Timely delivery of airplanes is crucial, and it’s not just about renting jets from the Middle East. We should focus on resolving these challenges and ensure that American-made aircraft are delivered on time.”
